Our Dachshunds were mopping around that past few days looking for a handout of their favorite dog treat “Beggin Strips.” Of course we ran out and they didn’t get treats until we went shopping at Ralphs. We somehow skipped Ralphs a week earlier by going to Sprouts Farmer’s Market to save on the lower prices found on their veggies. But Sprouts doesn’t carry Beggin Strips — or any dog treats that I can think of – so we have to resort to larger grocers or PetSmart to pick up a bag or two.
However, I was somewhat pissed off at the price Ralphs was charging for the 25oz bag and walked out and went a few stores down to the Thousand Oaks Petco only to find that the normal lower price was higher that what Ralphs was charging.
We ended up getting a bag at Ralphs that made our dogs very happy when they saw, or heard the familiar bag of treats we brought in from our car.
We pretty much try to pick up Beggin Strips when they are on sale but for some reason we keep forgetting to visit Target’s pet section since they carry the treats discounted deep for us dog owners who have more than one dog. Apparently Target was having a closeout on 40oz bags this week so we bought a few that should last us a few months. Even with the large bag lasting longer, the zip-lock seal keeps the treats from drying out.
Now that we have a surplus of treats, the next thing to do is to start collecting some Beggin Strip Coupons at eBay for the next round of purchases. From what I can tell, the Beggin Strip prices are on the rise and saving a few dollars here and there really helps the bottom line for our pocket book.
