My male doxie, Dean, started eating dryer sheets when he was a puppy and continued until he passed away at 15. He would NOT eat fresh ones, only ones that went through the dryer. The dryer sheets didn't seem to be a problem; his eating a HUGE rubber band was a different story. To be delicate - he could only get half of it out. And when I yanked on the part that was out, he would clench so hard that it would snap back on his butt. A little Vaseline did the trick.

I'd give up a limb to have that guy back again.

My 5 doxies are panty raiders too! Forget the hamper with the lid, they work together to knock it over and explore the contents. If I'm ever missing panties, I just look under the bed. It's like a lingerie drawer under there, minus the crotches (ewwww). Heck, if I wanted my panties crotchless, I would have bought them that way!

Last week they even drug a pair of skinny jeans under there. Now they're crotchless too. Yay, air conditioned Rock and Republic's. Just what I wanted!

Like stuffing from toys, dogs cannot digest the dryer sheets and can become knotted and block the intestine. This could require surgery to remove or become fatal.

My Heidi pulls the stuffing out of toys and eats it. She is a 2-year old mini red smooth doxie. I have to open them up and take it out before I give them to her now. I once had to pull it out the tail end and she bit me. THAT won't happen again!
I read in a magazine that dryer sheets are unsafe for dogs. But I don't know why.

I too came across this. The thong is too funny. I call my Dahli a panty raider. She loves warm laundry. Ever since she was a pup, she has a thing for panties. She will burrow into the clothes while I have the 'warm laundry' on the bed folding it. If she hears something, she often goes running, barking with my panties caught around her. Imagine a little red shorthair on the back of the couch in the window toting Victoria's Secret telling you to stay away! Who says you need ADT to protect your home?

I just came across this and now I cannot stop laughing. The doxie in the picture looks exactly like mine who just had to have surgery to remove a thong from her stomach (she swallowed it whole). But the dryer sheet thing is hilarious, because she has pooped those out many times!
