I personally don't think the tweenies are necessarily over wieght. I have a long haired mini that is 14 lbs. I was wondering, but now live in Germany & see Doxies everywhere (you can take your dog in stores & resteraunts here.) I have seen my Sera next to full sized Dauchshunds, as well as next to minis. And she is just in between. Much larger than a tiny mini & much smaller than a full sized Dauchshund. If your dog is healthy & does not appear overweight - check out the vet charts on how to tell then I would not be concerned at all.

My mini doxie Heidi is 14" from collar to base of tail. She weighs 14.5 lbs but she doesn't appear to be fat. I have her on low calorie food right now by recommendation of my vet, (or Heidi's). For 3 weeks now she has been between 14.5 and 15 lbs. She doesn't get people food or alot of treats. I am at a loss.
